Plants annual. Leaves 1-2-pinnate. Bracts and bracteoles scarious, whitish, linear to lanceolate or oval. Rays 5-15. Calyx teeth obsolete. Petals white to rose coloured, bilobed. Fruit ovoid, densely hairy to hispid; primary and secondary ridges distinct, vittae solitary under the secondary ridges; commissure 2-vittate. Inner seed face plane to slightly concave.

Annual herbs, 10-45 cm tall, pubescent. Branches erect, ribbed, glabrous. Leaves 1-2-pinnate, up to 6 cm long, lower petiolate, petiole ca. 1.6 cm long, gradually reduced towards apex, upper sessile; ultimate segments lanceolate, abaxially pubescent. Inflorescence compound umbel; rays 5-10, up to 1.5 cm long; primary peduncle up to 6 cm long; involucre of 5 bracts, bracts 5-9 mm long, lanceolate, acuminate or subulate, white, pubescent. Involucel of 5-6 lanceolate to oval, white, pubescent bracteoles (or bractlets), 4-5 mm long, long mucronate. In an umbel, peripheral flowers are female and inner bisexual. Flowers small, ca. 2 mm across, light rosy or white. Pedicels up to 4 mm long in fruit, glabrous. Calyx obsolete. Petals 5, 1 mm x 1.25 mm, bilobed, light rosy or white. Stamens 5; filaments 1.3-1.5 mm long; anthers 0.3-0.5 mm long, oval or globular. Ovary inferior, 1 mm long, densely hairy, bilocular, each locule with 1 ovule; styles 2, swollen at base forming stylopodium; stigma minute. Fruit ovoid, densely hairy, hairs 1-1.5 mm long, glochidiate; fruit schizocarpic, consisting of 2 mericarps; mericarp usually with primary and secondary ridges; vittae solitary under the secondary ridges; inner seed face plane.
